Wildly Colorful

Dress: Sheinside | Shoes: Calvin Klein (similar here) | Leopard Print Clutch: H&M |
Earrings: H&M

Summer is fast approaching. The warmer weather has me in the mood for something bright, colorful, and floral with a touch of wild. This pretty little dress was exactly what I needed to get me pumped up for the Summer. I fell in love with the beautiful floral details of this dress and the vibrant colors so full of life. They make feel like a flower garden. This dress makes me feel alive. I like that it hugs the body nicely, and the soft, stretchy material allows for room to move and breathe. It really is very comfortable.

The wide array of colors to choose from this dress allows for so many different ways to style it. My goal was to achieve a pretty, sassy, yet classy look. I chose to wear the dress with mid-heel pointed toe pumps. I didn't think the look would be so much on the classy side if worn with ski high heels. The bright neon color of the heels also draws a lot of attention, so the lower heel allows for the shoes to stand out without being too exaggerated. I picked up the neon yellow/green and orange colors, which are seen in my shoes, makeup, and accessories. In the photos, the shoes look yellow, but they really are more of a neon green. Instead of bringing out more colors from this dress, I decided to get a little wild and do a little print mix. Floral and leopard print are such a great combination and not to mention, two of my favorite prints.  In the past, I never dared to put the two together, but I decided to take a walk on the wild side and I have to say...I am very pleased with the way they look together.

I hope this look inspires you to be a little more daring when it comes to wearing bright colors and mixing prints. Thank you for reading! Stay tuned for more Spring and Summer outfit inspirations and remember to stay beautiful inside...and out.

Shades of Blue

Light Acid Wash Overalls: Love Culture | Top: Target |Stripped Heels: Forever21 |
Black Satchel: TJMaxx (similar here) | Necklace: H&M (similar here) | Sunglasses: H&M

When I was a little girl two of my favorite trends were overalls and acid wash jeans. I remember when I was about seven, I used to own a pair of light acid wash jeans with suspenders attached to them. Back then I wore them with a red and white stripped shirt and my cowboy boots. I thought I looked so cool. This trend has come back, and of course I had to bring it back with a more modern twist.

Yesterday, the last Sunday of the month of May, we celebrated Dominican Mother's Day. We had a nice family barbecue at one of my cousin's house where a lot of the mothers in our family gathered with children, husbands, and friends to celebrate. Since this is also a holiday weekend (Memorial weekend)  I wanted to add a little American girl vibe to the outfit I wore. I wore my acid wash overalls with a loose-fitting dark blue sleeveless collar shirt. I took this casual look and dressed it up with a pearl and rhinestone statement necklace, white and dark blue stripped heels, and black satchel. Since this was an outdoor party, I wore my blue mirrored aviator glasses, which makes a great combination with the different shades of blue I have going on with this outfit. I took this casual look from comfortable to chic by just adding a few accessories. Overall, I am very happy with the way this look came out.

In light of Dominican Mother's Day, I want to share some photos (below) I took with a very special little guy that changed my world three and half years ago. He makes my life so much more meaningful. My son, Arthur.

Peaches & Cream

Blouse: Forever 21 |  Pants: H&M (old) | Shoes: Steve Madden | Necklace: Windsor | Purse: Windsor

Happy Sunday beautiful! I know I am a little late with this post, but better late than never. I got pretty sick two days after my birthday. I'm still trying to get over a terrible cold, but I had to find some energy to share with you what I wore on my birthday.

Every year for my birthday I make it a point to wear something special. I strive to make every birthday fun and memorable and of course I can't forget to do it in style. This year my birthday was on a Monday, the most exciting day of the week! Okay maybe not... but I didn't let that stop me from getting all dressed up and feeling excited. Since I had to work on my birthday, I had to put together an outfit that represented my free-spirit, friendly, classy, and girly personality, but I had to keep in mind that this outfit needed to be appropriate for the office. I styled the outfit around this lovely blouse that I recently purchased from Forever 21. I fell in love with the loose-fitting, bohemian style of the blouse, which makes it very comfortable for work. The floral print gives it a subtle feminine look without it being too girly. I paired it up with white pants that have a tan tribal design sewn on the sides. Ballerina flats and a classy tan satchel were the perfect addition to bring out some of the tan on the blouse and the detail on the pants. I didn't think the look was complete without a statement necklace. This beautiful necklace gives this sweet and simple look a touch of glamour, it brings out the peach color on the blouse, and the teal stones add an extra bit of color and create a beautiful harmony.

Thank you so much for reading. Have a beautiful day!

Color Me Happy

Sweater: Forever 21 | Jeans: Forever 21 | Shoes: Call it Spring | Earrings & Head Scarf: Forever 21

Color me happy because May has finally arrived! You might be wondering about why I am so excited about the month of May. Below are three reasons why I love this month so much:

Reason one: Like the saying goes "April showers bring May flowers," I am a lover of nature and the beautiful flowers that begin to blossom during this month. In some parts of the world, there are flowers all year around, but here in New Jersey, we have to wait until May to see them in full bloom and we only get to enjoy them for a few months. I feel like my natural environment and I are truly in sync. When the trees and flowers are alive, I feel alive. This is one of those months that makes me feel rejuvenated and like I am coming back to life.

Reason two: We celebrate Mother's Day in May. Mother's Day is every day, but it's nice to have a special day dedicated to them. Being a mother is the most challenging, yet most rewarding opportunities we have in life. I am so thankful and blessed to have grown up around so many strong and amazing mothers, including own. I also thankful for the privilege and opportunity of being a mother and experiencing something truly special.

Reason three: It's my birthday! I was born on May 12. I love celebrating birthdays. Not just my birthday, but other people's birthdays as well. I grew up in a house where we celebrated a birthday party or other parties at least once or twice a month. My favorite part was planning and decorating. Lucky for me, I had a mother who trusted my design instincts even as young child. I was always very much involved in any celebratory event.

To celebrate the start of this beautiful month, I styled a colorful outfit that is sure to brighten your day. This outfit was styled around the floral head scarf I am wearing in the photos. I picked out two colors from the head scarf, which are seen in the bright-colored flamingo pink sweater, and the pastel yellow heels. This look is comfortable and will have you looking stylish while running errands or maybe shopping with friends.
