Fourth of July Series: Striped Dress

Dress: Forever 21 (similar here) | Sandals: Target (similar here) |
Satchel: Forever 21(similar here)

Fourth of July is just around the corner. This week, I will be sharing a few outfit ideas inspired by the upcoming holiday. Stars and stripes, red, white, and blue are always a favorite during this holiday. I'm looking to add a bit of each of these elements to the outfits that I'm styling. First up is this striped dress.

One of my favorite Summer trends is the nautical look. Every Summer I incorporate nautical inspired outfits into my wardrobe. The nautical look is one of those trends that never goes out of style. One of my favorite things about this dress are the metallic details on the back and front of the dress. The back has a long silver zipper, and the front features silver embossed buttons. The combination of the buttons and stripes give this dress a nautical look. I also love that it's loose fitting and very comfortable for the warm weather. I paired this dress with my black and silver strappy sandals and a black and cream quilted handbag. This outfit is perfect to wear to work during the holiday week or even to a barbecue on the fourth of July. Instead of wearing heels, you can make this look a little more casual by wearing it with black or silver flat sandals or pointed toe flats. Top top off this look, I added a pop of color with bright red lips,, which work perfect with the nautical and patriotic look.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Stay tuned for the next few posts of my Fourth of July series. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again on the next post.

Office Style: The Pencil Skirt

Pencil Skirt: KTR Collection| Floral/Polka Dot Blouse: Choies|
Ankle Strap Pumps: Forever 21| Earrings: Forever 21| Satchel: Anne Klein

Dressing up for the office can be a little tricky depending on the type of office you work for. Some offices are more conservative than others, but one thing I have learned is that the key to looking fabulous at work, is to keep it classy and always exude confidence. It's important to wear something you feel comfortable in and something that represents your personality. If you're anything like me (girly and colorful), then you wouldn't mind adding a pop of color to your office attire.

The pencil skirt is a classic staple piece in every career woman's closet. It's classy and sassy. This fuchsia pencil skirt is a great way to bring out your colorful personality while still looking classy. The designer of this skirt is one of my favorite style blogger/fashion designer, Mrs. KT Reed. I have been following her blog ever since I started my own blog. She was such an inspiration from day one. I love her creativity, her fashion sense, and her personality. She's just one of those people that even though I don't know her personally, I feel like I've known her all my life. I think it's because she reminds me so much of me. We have so many things in common! When I found out she was launching her own fashion line and online boutique I couldn't be more excited. She launched her fashion line and online boutique in June of 2013. I can't believe it took me this long to finally support my fellow style blogger/fashionista. Her clothing is a little on the pricey side, but I have to say it is definitely worth the investment. Not only because of the quality, but because it's handmade by KT Reed herself. She puts in a lot of hard work to keep her business going and that's not an easy thing to do. I am a huge supporter of small businesses and as soon as I was able to spend a little extra cash on clothes, I chose to go straight to KTR Collection. I also want to mention that this pencil skirt is part of a suit. It includes a cropped jacket with front zipper. Since it's too warm out for the suit, I decided to hold off until gets cooler and wear it in the Fall.

I opted to wear this skirt with a floral shirt with polka dot sleeves. I love that the color of the skirt picks up the fuchsia color of the flowers on the shirt. The mix of floral and polka dot prints, and the beautiful fuchsia color make this look sweet and ladylike. I wore a belt around the skirt to add a little more interest. Black pointed toe pumps and a classic bun complete this very chic office look.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Be sure to check out KT Reed's blog ((here) and her online boutique ((here). She has a lot of beautiful pieces in her collection. I can't wait to make my next purchase because I have my eyes set on a few pieces.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Stay tuned, and stay beautiful inside and out.

Femenine Chic

Dress: Sheinside | Yellow Pumps: Call it Spring | Shoulder Bag: Target

I think it's pretty obvious that I am in love with all things girly. I  can't help but to bring out a little of that girly personality in almost every outfit I wear. From the pastel colors, the pretty lace fabric on the bottom and cuffs on the sleeves, to the gorgeous embellished details on the sheer collar, this dress clearly represents that feminine style that I love so much. Something that attracted me to this dress is the mixing of prints, textiles, and textures, which are beautifully and subtly displayed.

All of the fabrics used in this dress are very thin and delicate; they give this dress that feminine look and feel. When I first received the dress, I was a little shocked that it didn't include a fabric or lining underneath the lace on the bottom of the dress. I didn't think too much of it and saw this as an opportunity to use my creativity and style it any way that I wanted. I didn't want to take away from all of the beautiful details of the dress, so for this post, I decided to keep this look simple by wearing it with a white cotton dress underneath. I wore it with pastel yellow pumps to bring out the pastel yellow on the printed part of the dress. I also added a little bit more texture with the distressed bronze colored shoulder bag with chain. The bronze over sized ring and the pink rhinestone stud earrings complete the look and make it extra girly, pretty, and bright.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! stay tuned for more, and remember to stay beautiful...inside and out.

Carnival Colors

Printed Top: Love Culture | Neon Pants: Forever21 (similar) | Wedges: Love Culture|
Earrings: Love Culture | Bracelet, Rings, and Headband: Forever 21| Mirrored Sunglasses: NY&C

This past weekend I enjoyed a fun day at a local carnival with my family. One of my favorite things about the Spring and Summer is all of the great outdoor activities that come with these warmer seasons. Carnivals are one of my favorite. There are so many things to enjoy at the carnival. Some of the things I love about carnivals are the merry-go-round, the Ferris-wheel, cotton candy, funnel cake, candied apples, the bright colors, colorful lights, the fun music, and the beautiful sunset. This specific carnival also had a petting zoo, which made it even more exciting. We had so much fun petting and feeding the animals. All of these exciting activities made this such a fun and enjoyable experience.

I took advantage of the opportunity to style an outfit for the occasion; an outfit inspired by the fun colors we see at carnival. It's no secret that I am in love with bright colors, exotic prints, and gold. I wanted to have fun with this outfit and add those elements that I love so much, that represent fun and excitement. This carnival inspired outfit was styled around this colorful printed top. I love the colors and the beautiful print on this top. I could have worn this top with jeans or cream pants, but the whole point of this outfit was to make it fun. I decided to wear it with neon yellow/green pants to pick up the yellow/green color from the top and add more excitement. The cream colored wedges help to balance this outfit and tone it down a notch. Wedges are normally very comfortable to walk in, but I don't recommend walking on grass with them all day. There are too many bumps, which made it really unsafe and uncomfortable after a while. When wearing heels, it's always a good idea to carry a pair of flats. I changed into cream flip flops after realizing that the wedges were not the best choice to wear to the carnival. The flips flops made my day at the carnival go much more smoothly.

I hope you enjoyed this carnival inspired outfit. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope to see you again soon for my next outfit styling adventure.

Peace,

Denim on Denim with a Pop of Pink

Pink Jacket: Charlotte Russe | Denim Bustier: Forever 21 (similar here) | High Waist Light Skinny Jeans: Kohesion (similar here) | Striped Heels: Forever 21 | Earrings: Sheinside (similar here)
Trends come and go, but there are certain pieces in our closet that remain popular throughout the year, forever, and always. Denim is a staple piece in pretty much everyone's closet. I don't know anyone who has never owned a pair of jeans or something denim. Needless to say, it is everyone's comfy, go-to clothing item.

On a beautiful sunny day, a pair of light blue denim will go just right. For this post, I am pairing a light blue acid wash, denim bustier with high-waist light blue skinny jeans. I chose to go with high-waist jeans as opposed to lower rise because the bustier is already pretty short and sexy. The idea was to style a sexy outfit, while still keeping it classy. I wore a neon pink jacket over this sexy denim on denim pair. I recently purchased this jacket from Charlotte Russe. The moment I saw it, I fell in love and knew I had to have it. It is the perfect shade of pink, the linen fabric makes it light and airy, and the tab sleeves, which can be rolled are some of the great details of this lovely jacket. It is a must-have for the Spring.

I added a little bit of print by wearing this outfit with my striped pumps. The print adds a little interest without taking away from the brightly colored pink jacket. I know you're probably wondering why in the world I'm wearing heels in a park by the water. Well, it was unplanned. I was already dressed up and was in the mood to go to the park to enjoy the sun and cool breeze. I took advantage of the scenery and decided to do the photo shoot there.

Last, but not least, I topped off this look with some gorgeous jeweled earrings. They are a great statement piece and the blue and pink jewels help bring the whole look together.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you so much for reading. Come back soon and remember to stay beautiful inside...and out.
