Hot Pink & Lace

Summer is only days away and I couldn't be more excited. I just can't get enough of the warm weather, sunny days, and everything that Summer brings. Something I truly enjoy about the Summer is being able to wear lighter and brighter clothes. Layers are cool and all, but let's be honest, sometimes it can get annoying to carry around all that extra baggage; pants, a tank top, a shirt, a sweater, a scarf, a coat, socks, long boots...it's just way too much. It literally feels like I'm wearing my entire closet (ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little). So when the weather gets warm, it's time for those layers to come off and the wardrobe colors to get bright.

There's no better way to kick off the upcoming season than with a lot of sunshine and a pretty little dress. I love that this dress offers a some contrast with the black and white and the fabric mix. The beautiful lace detail and a little pop of pink are just the touch to take this dress from plain to playful. Since I happened to have heels in the exact same color of the pink on the dress,  I thought it would be a good idea to pair them together. To top off this look, I wore long, detailed chandelier earrings that emulate the lace detail of the dress, black and gold bracelets, and a bold hot pink lipstick. Now I feel ready for summer and ready for some fun.

All Aboard!

Hola!

Welcome aboard! I can't believe we're more than halfway through the month of May and almost halfway through the year. Where did the time go? I feel like I ask myself this question a little too often nowadays. The older we get, the faster time seems to pass us by. Can you also believe I am 30?! Yes I said it. 30! I still can't believe it, but I'm starting to get used to the idea of entering a whole new decade of my life. This decade will bring it's own set of challenges, learning experiences, and so much more. I am looking forward to new, exciting adventures. So I'm hopping on this ship and ready to begin my 30's journey.

For this style post I am sharing with you the outfit I wore on the day of my birthday. Since my birthday was on a Thursday (work day), I decided to wear something simple, classy and sophisticated that would work for the office... or a yacht party. Just saying. I look like I should be sitting on a yacht letting the wind blow through my hair, while the sun is setting, as I sip on a fruity tropical drink. Ok, so that didn't happen, but I thought it would be cool to dress the part and dream on (haahaa). I am wearing one of my favorite looks; a nautical inspired outfit. The color of this romper is absolutely beautiful, and the minimalist style allows for room for play. I paired it with a white blazer and a nautical chunky statement necklace, nude and rose gold heels, and a gold belt. I styled my hair with curly beach waves and I was set to sail off into the sunset.

Let Loose

Some days I want to wear something cute and be comfortable at the same time...so on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I decided to have a little fun and let loose. This loose-fitted top was just what I needed to achieve that. It's pretty, colorful, fun, and not to mention very comfy. I paired it up with white skinny pants to add a little contrast, nude high heel sandals, and a taupe handbag to complement this look. This outfit is easy, breezy, and perfect for the girly girl on the go who likes to look pretty while running errands on a busy weekend.

P.S. Owl Always Love You

Dear Spring,

There are so many reasons to love you...

Besides the beautiful sunny weather, occasional rainy days, the blooming flowers, and the birds chirping,  I love the simple fact that you exist. This is a time for the renewal of the spirit, body, mind, and soul. I personally am one who uses this time as an opportunity to readjust things in my life. I am forever thankful for an opportunity to start again. This is a good time to let go of things that are holding me back from reaching my goals or greatest potentials. Every day is a gift from God. Some days are better than others, but what better time to get the momentum going in your life than this time of the year; Spring. One of my favorite quotes for this season is: "this is my time to shine." I encourage you to tell yourself the same thing. Know that this is also your time to shine in whatever you put your mind into.

What better way to show off your bright side than by wearing a pair of bright colored pants (a must have wardrobe staple for this time of year). Today I am sharing with you a look that is casual, chic, and perfect for Spring. I paired these peachy pink pants with this super cute, short-sleeved sweater. The best part: the adorable sequined owls. Too cute for words! To complete this look I put on a long sweater vest to make it a little more casual and comfy, and dressed it up with nude open-toe booties and a clutch. This outfit is perfect to wear out to lunch or a casual dinner date on a beautiful Spring day.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope you are now inspired to go out and start something new.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Be sure to stop by for some more Spring inspired looks.

XO,

 Yours truly

P.S. Owl always love you

Yellow

Yellow! (clears throat) I mean, hello... it's me (in Adele's voice). Okay, I'm done being silly now (haahaa).

I am back here again and feeling very happy and colorful because once again, we have arrived at one of my favorite seasons of the year...Spring! Hibernation mode is officially off. I'm not even going to get into why I've been MIA these last few months because I think you know by now that the colder months tend to keep me, well, hidden.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. I certainly enjoyed my Easter with my loved ones. I went church and then my sister and I took the kids to the park to go egg hunting.

Today I am sharing with you the outfit I wore on Easter day. This year I decided to go with this egg yolk yellow dress. I know, egg yolk yellow sounds kind of weird, but nonetheless very appropriate for the occasion (winks). Since it was a little bit chilly, I decided to pair it up with this fun, patterned coat, my favorite leopard print pumps for a little print mix, and a gold clutch. I also added a statement necklace with turquoise colored beads for a little color contrast. This outfit is simple, sweet, and ready for Spring.

Something Different

On a gloomy autumn day all I want is to feel warm and comfortable. I have to admit that I have never been a big fan of the midi dress or skirt paired with long boots look. I love to wear skirts and dresses, but the cold weather tends to keep me away from wearing anything that shows skin. I am someone who is always cold, even when it's not that cold. Bundling up during this time of year is a definite must for me. On some of these photos I am not wearing my jacket, but I promise you I was cold.

I decided to give this long boots and midi dress look a chance. I paired up this loose fitted denim midi dress with long brown boots. I recently purchased these boots and I just can't get enough of them. My favorite part: the gold plated heels, how comfortable they are!...oh and did I mention they are on sale? These photos don't do them justice because they're pretty covered up. I look forward  to styling them in different ways throughout the next few weeks of Fall and Winter. I added a few layers on top by wearing a brown cardigan and faux leather jacket. I have to say I felt pretty comfortable, yet fashionable. It's not so bad trying something new after all. It's okay to be different, as long as it feels good and it feels like you.

Welcome Fall!

It's been a while...yes, it certainly has. I missed blogging. I missed you, my dear reader. We may or may not know each other personally, but knowing that you are there, silently supporting me and reading my blog posts means so much to me. I guess this is a perfect time to say...THANK YOU!

It’s so nice to be back. Sometimes life has a way of taking us to unexpected places and putting us in situations that are unforeseen and rather difficult. This summer was a very busy one for me. It was filled with challenging situations, one of which you may already be aware of, my temporary disability. In my last post back in June, I mentioned that I had gotten injured. I tore the meniscus and a ligament in my knee. Thankfully, I was able to recover nicely through a whole summer of physical therapy. Aside from my injury, I had a lot of exciting things that happened some of which include a trip to Mexico for my best friend's wedding, I visited my old home and friends in the San Francisco bay area, a work promotion, and prepping to move into a new apartment, and my son starting kindergarten. There were a lot of great changes in my life, but the obstacles I faced along the way were not easy I tell ya.  I am so glad that I was able to make it through. The challenges are not over. In life we fall, but it’s the amount of times that we are able to pick ourselves back up that really matter. If you’re going through a difficult situation, remember that it is only temporary. Learn from it, do whatever it takes to get through it, and you will see that there are better things ahead. Remember that “there is a season for everything, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3)

Speaking of seasons, let’s change the topic to this warm and cozy look that’s perfect for the chilly Fall weather. The suede or faux suede material has been very popular this season, so of course I had to jump on it because I love suede, and velvet, and fuzzy, cozy fabrics that keep me warm. This is a perfect time to add layers and mix textures and that’s exactly what I wanted to achieve with this outfit. I chose to pair my faux suede dress with an over sized cardigan, a mid-length coat, stockings, and my leopard print heels. This look is great to wear to brunch with girlfriends on a beautiful Autumn day.
