Valentine's Day OOTD: Heart of Gold

Pink Sweater with Sequin Heart: H&M (similar) | Pink Anorak Jacket: New York & Company | Jeans: Zara | Black Ankle Boots with Gold Belt Detail: Mossimo (similar) | Leopard Print Handbag (similar here)

Hey loves! I hope you all had a happy Valentine's Day with your loved ones. I definitely had a great time. My V-day was very low key. I spent most of the day at home with my family relaxing. As you can see, we had a winter wonderland on Valentine's Day here in Jersey. The temperature has been dropping and is expected to continue to drop throughout the weekend and beginning of this coming week. Between the mini snow storm we had yesterday and the freezing cold temperature, I figured it would be best to stay home and enjoy a cup of one of my favorite winter drinks: hot cocoa and whipped cream, and some sweet treats like strawberry and chocolate frosted donuts with sprinkles, and chocolate cupcakes with strawberry frosting...YUM! Oh and I can't forget the chocolates.  Don't worry, we didn't eat all these sweets all at once, we ate them throughout the course of the day. I have a sweet tooth and I try not to over do it, but on a special holiday, it doesn't hurt to go a little crazy with the sweets...right?

I wanted to share with you the outfit I wore on Valentine's Day. I decided to wear something casual, yet dressy. I purchased this pretty pink sweater with a big ol' sparkly heart from H&M back in December. It's pink, and it has sequins, two things which I love!... so I had to get it. I can't help it, I'm a girly girl. I wore this sweater with my pretty pink jacket, some comfy/dressy ankle boots, a leopard print handbag for a little contrast, and a pair of jeans to give this look a more casual feel. A high ballerina bun and a pair of sparkly earrings complete this pretty in pink Valentine's day look.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope this look inspires you to bring out the girly girl that lives inside you. Be sure to look at the next post and enter my giveaway by following the prompt on the raffle copter at the end of the post. Have a lovely rest of the day and see you on the next style post!

3 DIY Project Ideas & 1 Lovely Print + GIVEAWAY

Hello beautiful reader! Today's blog post is very special. Not only am I sharing a very easy-to-make and pretty DIY project with you, but I am also doing my very first giveaway on the blog. This project is perfect for you girly girls, but if you're not a girly girl or you're just not a girl, don't worry. This would make a nice gift for that girly girl in your life.

I held off on doing a giveaway on my blog for so long because I've been focusing more on improving Interiors a la Vogue, coming up with a more consistent posting schedule. and providing a wide variety of content. I finally got tired of waiting around to do this giveaway. I said to myself: "if not now, then when?" Sometimes in life we put things off and we continue to put them off and we either never get to them, or when want to do them it's too late. As I get older, I have come to realize that life is about NOW. I  am a big believer in appreciating the past and planning for a better tomorrow, but we must take advantage of every single day we get in life and make a way to get something done TODAY! Since this is something I wanted incorporate into my blog and kept putting it off, I thought this would be a good opportunity to challenge myself to just do it! The time is now, so let's get right to it!

On one of my recent visits to Target I stopped by their dollar spot. I love stopping there because they always have the cutest and coolest things for $1.00-$5.00. You can't beat that! I came across a Valentine's Day card with this lovely print of a girl holding a bunch of balloons. I immediately fell in love. I thought this print was so cute and perfect for a fashionista. I then saw a gift bag with the same print. I purchased both of them because I couldn't pass up on the cuteness and I also knew I could come up with a creative way to use these items. Right away I knew I wanted to frame the card. Then I got the idea of cutting the bag and placing it in a bigger frame since the bag is bigger than the card. I also thought it would be neat to stuff the bag with some pretty pink silk roses that I already had in my craft bin. Below you will see three different ways to use this adorable print to spruce up your vanity or desk or any room in your house where you like to put pretty little things. I also included step-by-step instructions on how to frame the bag. Check it out!

Idea #1: You can frame the card on a beautiful baroque style frame from Ikea

Idea #2: Frame the bag on a larger (8 x 10) frame

You will need the following items to complete this project:
- A frame of your choice
- Gift bag with print
- Rosettes (Michael's or Jo-Ann Fabrics)
- Card stock paper of your choice
-Scissors
-Tape

Cut along the edge of the bag...

Place the paper that comes inside the frame on top of the card stock paper and cut to fit the size of the frame. I used an 8" x 10" frame for this project that I picked up at Homegoods.

First, remove the ribbon that is used as a handle for the bag. Turn the back of the print and place double sided tape. Place the print on the center of the card stock paper and press it down to adhere.

Once the image is placed inside the frame, select two rosettes and place them on the glass in the area that shows the holes where the handle of the bag used to be. Make sure that the glass has been cleaned and dried before placing the rosettes.

Idea #3: Place flowers inside the gift bag

The cool thing about this project is that you can use any nice gift bag or print of your choice. This lovely print looks adorable on my dresser and not to mention it matches perfectly with my room decor.

I hope you guys enjoyed this fabulous DIY project. Now let's move on to the fun part. One of you lucky readers will have the chance to win one of these three DIY project ideas I came up with. Leave me a comment below letting me know which one of these three ideas was your favorite:

Valentine's Day Look: Lovely Lady

Rose Gold Crop Top: Forever 21
Blush Midi Skirt: H&M
Leopard Print Jacket: H&M
Blush & Rose Gold Heels: BCBG (similar)
Bronze Shoulder Bag: Target (similar)
Accessories: Forever 21

Valentine's day is just around the corner. Who is excited to celebrate love? I am! I have to admit that I am a huge fan of Valentine's day. This is probably because a.) I'm a female b.) I am a girly girl, c.) I am a sucker for all things pretty and sweet like chocolates, flowers, candy, glitter and hearts. Sadly, I have come across people who absolutely hate this holiday called Valentine's day. They think it's "too commercialized," "it's a made-up holiday to get you to spend more money," they say things like "love shouldn't be celebrated on one day, it should be every day"...blah blah blah and the list goes on. Some of this is true, but who cares?! If you don't like spending a lot of money, think of something special that you can make for your loved one(s), or come up with a creative way to make this day special. I always say that you don't have to spend any money to put a smile on someone's face. I do believe that love and friendship should be celebrated every day, but I don't see anything wrong with doing something a little extra special for a loved one, once a year. If you chose to be a rebel and go against this holiday, make someone's day special on a different day. I'm sure some of you who are against Valentine's day are ready to throw arrows an darts at me for defending this holiday, but that's okay. I will forever be a person who loves to celebrate love.

With that said, let's get right into this Valentine's day inspired look. I put together an outfit for the sophisticated and very lady-like girl or woman. This outfit is perfect to wear on a dinner date with your lovey or dinner with your girlfriends. What I love about this look is that you can wear this pretty much all year around, not just on Valentine's day. The blush color paired up with the rose gold blend together beautifully and give this look a delicate, lady-like feel. A touch of leopard print adds a little sass to this very chic and feminine look. A pair of gorgeous jeweled earrings and bracelet complete this look. You're all set to enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner.

So what are your plans for Valentine's day? Is this an outfit you would see yourself wearing? I hope you enjoyed this style post. Stay tuned for a special V-day post coming soon to the blog. This will be a DIY and my first ever giveaway on the blog. Stay tuned! You won't want to miss it. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello beautiful reader! I am back here again and this time I'm talking about a topic that I haven't really covered on the blog yet. Today we're talking about beauty, well, in this case, beauty products. You see, there are so many different aspects to this topic of beauty that I wish to discuss on the blog in future posts. One of them being inner beauty, because I am big believer that a beautiful face and a beautiful body are nothing without a beautiful mind and a beautiful heart. We'll talk about that later, but for now, let's get right to the makeup products.

I have to admit that I am a makeup lover. My everyday makeup look is very simple and natural, but every once in a while and during special occasions, I like to wear a bold lipstick color or have a dramatic eye look. I love to play around with colors whether it's with the clothes that I wear, with my makeup, and even when it comes to decorating. Today I am sharing with you a few products that I recently purchased. I guess you can say these are the products that I am currently loving when it comes to makeup, but I actually have a separate blog post coming soon, which will feature my current favorites for the month of February. The images above show three lipstick colors, three nail polishes, a blush, and the very glamorous limited edition makeup brush set by Sonia Kashuk for Target.

The three lipsticks are "Let's Get Naked" by Rimmel London, "Blissful Berry", and "Coral Burst" by Maybelline. I love how smooth and moisturizing these lipsticks are. I have to say that the Maybelline lipsticks are not as pigmented as I thought they would be. The colors are beautiful, but it takes a few coats to get the color to show as bright as the lipstick looks. The "Let's Get Naked," has been my go- to lipstick these past few days. This is definitely the perfect nude lip color for my skin tone. I also purchased the 'Coralina' baked blush by Milani and can I just say... I love it! What a beautiful color. This one is highly pigmented, so it's important not to put on a lot. A little bit goes a long way. The three nail colors are "Sweet Lavender," Pink-a-boo," and "Red, Steady, Go." I've been using these 60 second nail polishes for a little over a year now. These nail polishes are great for a girl, woman, or mom on-the-go. They really dry in 60 seconds and the color looks just as beautiful on the nails as it does on the bottles. Definitely two thumbs up from me. Last but not least, the limited edition makeup brush set by Sonia Kashuk for Target. I believe these are sold in most stores by now, but it doesn't hurt to check. You might get lucky and find a set. They are still available online (check out the link above). These were the holiday edition set that came out around Christmas. I was instantly attracted to the design of the brushes and the combination of black and gold. If it's black and gold, white and gold, pink and gold. or just anything gold, it's gotta be mine. There is just something about gold that I love so much. Aside from these brushes looking pretty on my dresser, they are also very soft and the set has a nice variety of brushes to create a beautiful makeup look,

This is all for this post. I hope you enjoyed reading about these makeup products. Please be sure to leave your questions or comments about these products in the comment section below. Stay tuned for more on this topic of beauty and stay beautiful inside and out.
